well, so far, i've seen the dining room of the "camp" that i'll be working at this summer. a dining room with air conditioning, a full entertainment system, a small fleet of 20 mountain bikes, and 6 ATV's.

p.s. i am in the same room as neil, and it is truly an honor.
he is so sweet and awesome.

ok i want to stay here for longer. but with friends.
i had a really nice catch-up coffee with anyeshka this morning.
its fun to have friends to catch up with.
and my dad is talking out loud about emails he sent me from the next room.

and stoopidpracticumman still hasnt faxed me jack shit,
but my mom wants to put sushi's crib together before dinner. tooooooo cute.
and i got to drive a car that works to get my hair cut!
and mj and i are planning on meeting somewhere between milwaukee and madison
to have us an adventure! i hope the snow waits until we are finished.
whew! two days just became a lot of STUFF. |

but i've been thinking about the kanu all day.
and for some reason, the only time i ever drove out to camp alone. right after it snowed a lot, and before they plowed (because camp was, um, a farm). and how i parked next to jeff's car with the "play ultimate" sticker and how the only time i was in that car was after my biggest mental breakdown ever when we went into town to buy a cake. and jeff was dressed like a pirate.

neily gave me a wonnnnnnderful valentine's day, and i am very much swooning.
also, today felt like spring. i'm kind of really excited for that.
and monday was full of best friends, and i will be making up my owed phone calls tomorrow. on my way to my big-kid interview. at which the pants-suit may or may not be making an appearance... it's not really a big deal.
(but gung ho is! underrated team of the year[s] award, woot. way to rock some socks in vegas. wish i could have been there! but so excited for all that is ahead... . . .. . .... .. . ) |

i completely enjoyed my date tonight with jamie. in every way possible. the union, obnoxious giggling, our lil late night chat, everything. and i don't hate girls... only sometimes.
and maybe we're going to finish off the night with some good-natured, mostly-platonic cuddling. it's really nothing to be concerned about.
also: alison + gise on monday sounds pretty excellent. and much needed.
and when do i get to see all my other favorite milwaukee-ans? not soon enough... |

well, i enjoyed my little outing with claire. como siempre. but i must say, i thought there would be a whole lot more nights like tonight in my college experience, with boys with guitars in little coffee shops -- with exposed brick! and my little northwestern world seems to be getting smaller and smaller for so so many reasons...
but i'm fine. i'm actually great! and midterms don't seem to be such a big deal anymore. but going home next weekend to hang out with my parents (and maybe see brokeback mountain? terrifying.) and to celebrate a new schaefer with some baby-shower ridiculousness seems like a very big deal.
and despite the gray raininess of a warm chicago winter, i am indeed glad to be back. |

i am going home tomorrow!!!! assuming my second flight actually exists, first world livin, here i come!

the format is playing at the vic in chicago with motion city soundtrack on, um, april first. and immediately after said concert, at midnight, i will turn 21. the world apparently loves me, and reality is welcoming me back with open arms.

to clarify:
UADY is my school.
i f-ing hated it yesterday (and approx. 78% of the rest of my time here) because it is in the yucatecan jungle, requires an hour-and-a-half roundtrip commute, and closed yesterday at 4:00 without warning after i had been there 20 minutes and had planned on staying til 8:00 to write a 12 page paper.
in spanish.
however: my paper is done, and when i turn it in at 5:00 today, i will be done, too! and then i will go to the beach tomorrow, go drink legally and pretend i can salsa for the last time, and then go hooooooooooome.
